APPOINTMENTS
As of November 9, Cochrane Animal Clinic will be transitioning onto a modified curbside system. Given the current public health situation, and the number of COVID cases in the province of Alberta, we feel it is the responsible way to proceed in order to protect our staff and our clients as best as possible while continuing to be able to provide veterinary care for our patients. As of this time, our doors will remain unlocked and open for food and medication purchases and pick-ups.
In order to keep our clients and staff safe, we are implementing the following protocols:
Clients whose pets have appointments and scheduled surgeries will bring the pet in and hand them off to our support staff. From there, the client will return to their vehicle and all communication with our veterinarians and support staff will be done over the phone. Once the appointment has finished, the client will come back into the clinic to process payment and pick up their pet.
Only ONE person may attend the appointment with their pet. We can continue to offer curbside appointments and product pick-up if you are unable to enter the building alone.
Every person that enters the clinic is required to wear a mask that covers the mouth and nose. We have masks available for purchase ($2/mask) if needed. If you are unable to wear a mask, we can offer curbside appointments and product pick-up.
We ask that you sanitize your hands upon entry into the building.
Please advise us if you or anyone in your household has been sick recently and preferably send a friend or family member to the clinic with your pet. If you are in quarantine and unable to pick up your food or medications, email us and we will facilitate a drop-off. If you are ill, have traveled in the last 14 days, or have been exposed to COVID we ask that you inform us and we will manage your pet without your assistance and communicate with you via telephone.
PET DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP
We currently have our doors open so that you can come in to the clinic to drop off your pet for their appointment. If you prefer curb-side pick-up, please call at 403-932-5875 when you arrive and we will meet you in the parking lot to receive or deliver your pet.
Unfortunately, our staff cannot assist with getting animals out of your vehicles; instead, we ask that you provide a hand-off of your pet in the parking lot or in our reception area.
PRESCRIPTION RENEWALS, FOOD ORDERS, AND NON-URGENT REQUESTS
We have launched a webstore for food and other pet products. Please visit cochraneanimalclinic.com to set up an account. **You can only add items to your cart if you register and create an account. **
You can also email us for any prescription or non-urgent requests at office@cochraneanimalclinic.com. We will get back to you within 2 business days.
PRESCRIPTION AND FOOD PICK-UP
Now that our doors are open, one family member may enter the building to pick up supplies. You must wear a mask and sanitize your hands upon entrance. We can only accommodate 6 people in the waiting area at once, so to ensure social distancing we ask that you step out of the clinic if there is crowding. If you prefer to continue with curbside pick-up- please call at 403-932-5875 when you arrive and we will bring your order out to you.

CLINIC ENHANCED HEALTH & SAFETY PROCEDURES AND VETERINARIAN AVAILABILITY
We have implemented a shift policy so that three separate teams of vets & their support staff have no physical contact with each other, in an effort to protect our staff to the greatest extent possible from COVID exposure, and to support ongoing availability of the clinic for your pets. The clinic is closed and deep sanitized between shifts. For this reason it may be difficult to access your preferred vet as promptly as previously possible, but please continue to make a vet request and we will accommodate as possible.
ILLNESS IN YOUR FAMILY
Please advise us if you or anyone in your household has been sick recently, and preferably send a friend or family member to the clinic with your pet. If you are in quarantine and unable to pick up your food or medications, email us and we will facilitate a drop-off.
